There’s a vibrant Adventist community in Calhoun, Georgia and the surrounding North Georgia cities of Dalton, Adairsville, and Rome. There are a number of Adventist churches within a 30-minute drive of GCA, but the school is blessed to have the GCA Church located right on campus.

The GCA Church is a vital part of what makes GCA so special because the church members are dedicated to “capturing the hearts and minds of young people and developing them into fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.” The church family lives out this mission by involving students at every level of church ministry, from serving as greeters and children’s Sabbath School assistants to running AV and being a part of the church board. The church is committed to encouraging students to grow and lead by participating in the church services on Sabbath mornings and by working behind the scenes in all areas of church ministry.

Next door to the academy is Coble Elementary School, a growing pre-K through eighth-grade school. Each year a number of families move to the area to take advantage of the high-quality educational offerings of Coble, GCA, and Southern Adventist University, which is only an hour north of Calhoun.

GCA is blessed to be a part of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference (GCC), whose headquarters are located on the east side of Calhoun, about 20 minutes from the school.

In addition to the conference office, Calhoun is home to AdventHealth Gordon, located in Calhoun, and AdventHealth Redmond, located in Rome, Georgia, about 30 minutes southwest of Calhoun. We are fortunate to have two Adventist hospitals in our community.
