Kimberly Carr, English and math teacher, was born in El Dorado, Ark., and grew up in a small town about 20 miles from there. She has lived most of her adult life in Arkansas and Mississippi, but has also lived in North Carolina, and now Georgia.
Kimberly earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and mathematics from Southern Arkansas University in 1994. She received her Master of Science degree with an emphasis in math education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2008.
Kimberly and her husband Mark, grounds supervisor at Georgia-Cumberland Academy, have been married since 1990. They have two beautiful daughters, Omega, who is a GCA alumna, and Hannah, who is currently a senior at GCA.
Kimberly teaches geometry, pre-Calculus and English IV. She enjoys teaching and working with students individually. She says that one of the advantages of boarding academy life is getting to know students outside of the classroom.
“My favorite thing about GCA is the student involvement in praise and worship [music services],” said Kimberly.
