Bio

Josh Woods, chaplain, was born in Atlanta, Ga., and grew up in Douglasville and Hiram, Ga. He has also lived in Collegedale, Tenn.; Berrien Springs, Mich.; and now Calhoun, Ga.

Josh is an alumnus of Georgia-Cumberland Academy. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in theology with a minor in Biblical languages from Southern Adventist University in 2008. He later received a Master’s of Divinity degree from Andrews University.

Prior to working at GCA, Josh pastored in the Warner Robins/Oglethorpe district in middle Georgia. In his current position as academy chaplain, he is in charge of the Campus Ministries program, which plans several worship services each week, including the midweek service, Thursday chapel, vespers, Sabbath School, and Sabbath afternoon activities. Josh also plans and assists with mission trips and Week of Prayer. He gives Bible studies and serves at the GCA church as well.

Josh is has been married to Brittany for six years. They have two young daughters: Adelyn and Eden.

Josh loves his job at GCA. He says that it has been a great experience to work with youth as an academy chaplain.
