Greg Gerard, principal, was born in Washington D.C., but was raised mostly in southwest Michigan. He has lived in a number of other states around the country, including Virginia, Kansas, southern California, and now Georgia.
Dr. Gerard earned a Bachelor’s degree in history and religion in 1977, and a Master’s degree in religion in 1981, both from Andrews University. In 1981 he also received a Master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Michigan University. And in 1984, he received a Doctorate degree in educational leadership, also from Western Michigan University.
Dr. Gerard spent a number of years teaching religion and history on the academy level. He also spent 13 years working in higher education and in the areas of public relations and development. He has served as the principal of three schools.
Dr. Gerard is married to Nancy, and they have two adult children, Andrew and Allison. Andrew is a full-time doctoral student at Michigan State University. He is married to Sarah, who is a research consultant at SRI. Allison is married to Albert Handal. They live in Texas and both serve on the pastoral staff of the Keene Adventist Church.
Dr. Gerard feels honored to have served as principal at GCA for the last 14 years. “We are blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school,” he said.
