Dori Boggess, Director of Learning Resources, was born in Hargerstown, Md., but grew up in Collegedale, Tenn. She has lived many other places, including Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Pusan, South Korea; Palm Springs, Calif.; Atlanta, Ga.; Nashville, Tenn.; and now Calhoun, Ga.
Dori has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, and is licensed to teach grades K-8. She recently earned a Master’s degree in Literacy. Before coming to Georgia-Cumberland Academy, Dori taught on the elementary level in Atlanta and Nashville.
Dori is married to Bruce, who also teaches at GCA. They have three sons: Cole, Jack and Garrett.
Dori enjoys her job at GCA, where she provides support for students’ academic needs. She says that it is rewarding to help students explore their learning styles and assist them in developing good study habits.
“I love also love the relationships and interactions with students,” Dori said.
