Albert Hernandez, assistant boys’ dean and maintenance supervisor, was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. Albert moved around a lot growing up because his father is a pastor. The family has lived in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Italy, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Georgia. Albert’s parents now live and pastor in Cleveland, Tenn. He also has two sisters, one who lives in Atlanta, Ga., and one who lives in Cleveland, Tenn.
Albert attended Southern Adventist University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in intercultural communication and international studies with an emphasis in Italian. He is currently working on his Master’s degree at Southern in the area of global community development.
Albert has several roles at GCA. His is an assistant boys’ dean, where he enjoys working with the students and providing them with any advice they might need. He also supervises the maintenance workers and makes sure that the buildings and classrooms on campus are clean and well taken care of. In addition to these responsibilities, Albert also coaches the girls’ soccer team.
“I feel very blessed to have a job at GCA,” said Albert. “I never imagined I would be working for my high school.”
